Green Wi-Fi coming soon

The problem with Wi-Fi is getting the equipment out there and working, this requires power and it is not always possible to do this, so Wi-Fi equipment maker Meraki has come up with a solar powered outdoor node, which could solve the problem.

However this would require an almost doubling of the cost, this has to be taken into consideration when providers look at this equipment. There is also the problem with solar power too, would they get enough charge to last twenty four hours, if not then they would need to the node to be connected to an alternative power supply as a backup.

Meraki supply Wi-Fi equipment throughout the world including the UK, where this type of product could be used in the many areas where there is little or no coverage for fixed line or even mobile broadband and remote areas that need internet access.
