Data sharing between Facebook and Microsoft

It is becoming increasing difficult to prevent your personal details even if it is only your email address from getting into the hands of spammers, marketers and other businesses that see that this type of personal contact is the most cost effective way of getting their products and services in front of potential new customers.

It seems that Facebook had a problem with Microsoft’s Windows Live Messenger, the instant message service through the feature known as Invite2Messenger.

This application is for importing contacts, especially email addresses from other social networking sites. It works simply, the user just chooses which people that they want to add to the service and the system makes contact, however recently in Facebook, friend’s emails are visible and so can be collected for marketing purposes.
