Just what is Linux?

There cannot be many people who have not heard of Linux, but simply because although there is so written about Linux but people rarely look at things that do not bother study things like this because they already have an operating system.

Nevertheless, there is a fascination with Linux and how it operates, however there are always going to be people who would like the idea of Linux, but just cannot bring themselves to actually go for it.

For those people who want to know, here are some facts about Linux:

Linux is a Kernel.
Linux Kernel is the main component of all Linux Operating System.
The word “Linux” can be used to describe both the “Linux kernel” and the “operating system”.
Linux has many “distributions“.
Linux Distribution is a collection of applications bundled with the Kernel.
Ubuntu is one of the many
Linux is a safe operating system
Linux is free.
Linux is highly customizable
Linux is the leading embedded OS
