12 TB of YouTube data to be anonymous

It seems that finally Google has relented to the demands of the courts and handed over twelve terabytes of data from the user generated video site YouTube to the media giant Viacom.

The data initially requested was for a full database that contained the details of every single YouTube user with their ID and IP addresses, this information will be accompanied by details of the every video that they have watched on YouTube.

But after concerns over privacy, both Google/YouTube and Viacom had finally come to an agreement which would mean that the user details are anonymous, which should please all of the users of YouTube.

The next step should be the conclusion of the $1 billion copyright case against YouTube.
