File sharing sites blocked

Israel’s biggest ISP has been ordered by a court to block access to certain file sharing and torrent sites, which has done very little to stop people from visiting these sites. In fact there is a lot to be said about keeping quiet about things as the publicity generated by this case has caused even more traffic to visit the sites that the authorities did not want people to see.

The main site in question is HttpShare which is a bit torrent and http hyperlink site, traffic has been so great that the sites management has had to upgrade their hardware in order to keep up with the demand. This just goes to prove that sometimes standing up for what you may feel is right, can have the opposite effect.

The thing with this site is that they do not store anything, all they do is provide an active link to where the files are stored, which in Holland where they are based is perfectly legal. However this is a very similar site to TV Links, which was run the same. But the owner still found himself arrested and the site closed down.
